Wanzhao Chemical develops a brand-new material for oilfield drilling additives, which can greatly improve the rheological properties, filtration loss reduction performance and thermal stability of mud.
Rheological property improvement
Rich in hydroxyl group, it can produce adsorption effect with bentonite and other solid particles, and form a stable spatial grid structure under the action of hydrogen bond and van der Waals force. This structure will be destroyed under shear force, but it can be quickly reconstructed, which makes the drilling fluid have strong non-Newtonian property. Under the condition of maintaining a certain apparent viscosity, the dynamic-plastic ratio of the drilling fluid is obviously increased, and the rock carrying capacity of the drilling fluid is improved. In addition, the water-based drilling fluid with low solid content was made by replacing half of bentonite, and the fluid showed good shear dilution performance, and the viscosity, dynamic shear force and static shear force of the fluid also increased.
Improvement of filtration loss performance
It contains a large number of nano particles, which can effectively block the micro-nano voids in the formation from a smaller dimension. In addition, bentonite and stabilized bentonite colloid can be dispersed to control the filtration performance of drilling fluid.
Thermodynamic stability
In drilling fluid, polymers such as PAC, xanthan gum and guar gum are usually used as flow regulators, which degrade badly at higher formation temperature, resulting in increased filtration. The temperature stability of new materials is much higher than that of conventional materials. Adding or partially replacing new materials to the original formula can improve the temperature resistance of the whole drilling fluid, thus further improving the filtration loss reduction performance.
